But I mean I don't think it's where it should be I've got to have something wrong I didn't expect to be knocking extremely hard but
smh, its rare that a low powered sub sealed will be as loud as 2 12's ported...
U should have got more sub bro...
My boy has a ****** pioneer ten runnin off the hu in a truck mount that's bout as loud swear to god
Our point is that a Single DCON is not going to excel in a sealed enclosure and unless you're putting 2 at rated in a properly built sealed won't do much, either. Give your a properly-built ported enclosure and that 400W should work considerably better for you.

Ok I'm stuck in a position and I'm not exactly sure what to do. First off I'm gonna port this one and its not enough do I get another one and a new amp and go from there or go ported with this and then just step up in subs to say and icon or xcon with a new amp as well?
Basically how would two dcons on 800w ported vs a single icon or xcon on 1000w+
They come alive ported. What are your plans for the ported enclosure?

I feel like youre expecting too much out of it. Also what car is it in? if its in a sealed trunk and youre comparing it to something youve listened to in an s.u.v. its not really a fair comparison. 400 watts isnt that much couple that with a sealed enclosure and an entry level sub and its not going to be loud.
It's in a ext cab truck right behind my head I just thought its be louder but I guess I'll go 2.25cu ft ported and tuned around 33-34hz and have somebody off here build it.

This post is no way gape or form against the dcon or ssa as a company. Please don't take this out of context, I'm just trying to figure out where I need to be to get te sound I'm after I'm not trying to say its a crappy sub by any means

Yeah I think I'm gonna go ported and I'm sure it'll be louder. Should I stay with a single sub setup though? It'd be cheaper to go up the production line with gcon, icon or xcon than go with a double sub setup in the long run
