help in deciding subs

hey guys thanks for taking time to read my thread.im currently tryin to put together a small system together, i have a jl 500.1 with a epicenter. im looking into three different subs first up is the pioneer tsw3002d2, second is power acoustics mofo, and last is kicker l3.i have a $300 budget. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

none of them are really any good ,$300 can get you a decent sub from one of the vendors on the forum here.need to answer a few questions tho . how many subs and what size ? who much power are you trying to put to it or them ? how much area do you have for the sub or subs ? and what kind of music do you listen to ,rock ,rap ,country , what ?

First, I'd ditch the Epicenter if you could. Like immediately. Have heard horror stories of those things destroying both amps and subs. Second, I personally wouldn't go with any of your sub options at your 300-dollar price range since there's TONS of options available for that kinda money.

Are you thinking of a single or dual sub setup? SQ or SPL (aka do you want everything to sound exactly as it was recorded, or do you want a block-rocker)? What kind of music will you mainly be listening to? These are the questions we need answered to better help you out.

I just installed some sundown sa8v2 subs and really like them.. I am not going to say buy sundown cause I have them, but I do like them so far. There are a bunch of companies I would go for ahead of the three you mentioned for $300

thanks guys for the replys ok epicenter coming out.i have a 95 tercel i dnt care for space ill use all of it if i have to. i like spl to b honest and i only listen to rap music. i would like two twelves i been hearing good things about sundown but more of there expensive stuff do they have something in my price range?

Two American Bass VFLs should do you great, but back me up Jim if he needs more power. With 500W and SPL as a goal, you might need to upgrade that amp or stick with a single sub solution

300 wont get 2 12's sorry to tell you ,380 will tho ,2 american bass xfl 12 ,spl oriented subs too ,prolly will be your best option unless you buy used

and yes you will need alot more power ,with 500 watts maybe the xo 12's or the xd 12's but you'll still need more power ,but they will do the trick in the right box. what amp ?
