I don't think they ever put the I-6 in a mustang, well at least the fox body. I think it would be a 3.8 v6, not positive, and those weren't bad engines, just not much power.

Up to the late 70s early 80s ford had a single barrel carbed 200ci inline six they put in all the cars that didnt get v8s, this was before the v6 was around, which was sometime in the mid-early 80s.

Yep, looks like 82 was the first year for the v6.

Yup correct. I actually have a Fox body 200 I-6 in my garage on a engine stand. It's the more rare Big Bell version that did not come in all of them . Pretty stout TQ monsters , but not worth the effort to make speed unless you boost them .
