    question

Ok so I'm only getting about 9-10 volts at my amp, so I checked my battery and it was at about 11-11.5 volts, do I just need a new battery?

    Re: question

Check your amps ground if it's still connected, I know when I had my SK1500.1 the ground came lose my voltage dropped to like 6volts.

    Re: question

whats the reason for bad advice?

start ur car measure at the battery terminal should be atleast 13.8volts can be as low as 13.2 if you have a bad battery.
if its lower that 13.2v your alt is bad and should be replaced asap because you might not have ruined the battery yet...

    Re: question

Battery probably has a dead cell in it. Go get a load test done on it at autozone or something and see if it is bad.

    Re: question

With my truck running I get 14 volts, at the amp still around 8-9 volts, now I'm confused, could it be because I had to shave off some of the 0/1 gauge wire to fit it in the amp power/ground terminals?

    Re: question

If you have that much drop from front to back there is only one reason.

Wiring connections. Check them and recheck them. My bet is on a bad ground.

This, you can also check our ground by checking your ground and remote with a dmm. This will also tel you if you the issue is in the ground or power wires/connections.
