Are you buying this for 12V use only, circuit testing, etc? I use a Craftsman meter with an extra lead set that I bought about 10 years ago. It cost right around $100 for the meter and I think the lead set with a storage bag was about $25.
The reference quality meter is the Fluke 87 V, but they have a cheaper brand called Amprobe that's good too.
