Two 10" or one 12" in small car? (First setup)

I have a rockford fosgate t600-2 amp that I got off of craigslist and I own a small 93 toyota camry and I am wondering which will sound better the two 10's or one 12?

I would go with 1 12".. I had a 12" in a VW Jetta and it was perfect! Also what brand are you looking at?

Two tens will be a bit louder assuming you have enough room for a properly built box. If you use the same sub there should be no quality difference in sound, just amplitude.

"better" is subjective. what is your definition of better? trying to get loud?

I was looking at boss, pioneer, and kenwood 12's... and I have plenty of room for tens in my trunk

I want nice solid bass, I listen to alot of hip hop

what is your budget?

I don't really have a set budget.. My birthday is around the corner so I'll probably get whatever I want as long as its reasonably priced

How about you look more at sundown products.. You can get an sa12 for 194 an it will slam off that amp.. Plus it will give you good sound quality!

With that amp I would look at 2 10" ssa dcons. It will be louder than a single 12 and sound really good. But build a good ported box for them.

yeah, Moler is right, 1 sa12 will be good, or if you're set on a pair of 10s you can grab 2 E series 10's. both should be ok off your amp. key is to build a proper box

So the sound quality doesn't really change with two 10's vs one 12?

I mean yes, it does put 2 jvc 10s to sundown 10s and you will see a huge difference but really man I would go with the sa12 because it will take all 600 from that Rockford amp and its cheaper than both dcon 10s if you did but them. 194 shipped you can't beat that! Go with sa12 man
