    My first car audio build

So I'm doing my first complete car audio system overhaul on my IS300 and wanted some judgement on my shopping list before I make the purchase. The only item I have already purchased is the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH Head Unit and dash kit. I'm a bit of a noob but have a good head on my shoulders and plan on doing it the right way using all available resources. It's been difficult to decide on these components but this is what I have come up with. My budget is up to $1500 but I am trying to keep it close to $1000. So $1000-$1500 total. So far I am at $1021.92.

I paid $400 for the AVH-P4400BH and kit.

    The rest of the list:

Rockford Fosgate Rfk4x 4 Gauge Amplifier Install Kit Made of 100% Pure Crystal-oxygen Free Copper - Rockford Fosgate
    $77.99

    Focal 165 VB - Focal
    $249.99

    MRX-F30 - Alpine 4-Channel 600 Watt Max Speaker Amplifier - Alpine
    $169.95

    Alpine Spr-69 6 x 9 Inches 2 Way Pair of Car Speakers Totalling 600 Watts Peak / 200 Watts RMS - Alpine
    $114.00

Metra 70-8113 Radio Wiring Harness for Toyota Amp Integration 20 Pin - Metra Electronics Corp
    $9.99

I'm also either buying a 3/4" speaker baffle for the front speakers or making my own out of a plastic or mdf material.

Judge away and please don't flame... I am a noob. What do you guys think... any advice would be appreciated.

I am willing to go up to $1500 but trying to keep it closer to $1000. I don't think I need a sub and like my trunk space. I figure the 6x9's will provide sufficient bass.

So far I am just over $1000 with the HU and this shopping list.

Are you trying to tell me the wiring kit I want to order is not good? It seems like it is pretty good quality to me. Is there something wrong with using copper?

OK, So the RF wiring kit is overkill or just too expensive (reserving my own judgment and considering the KnuKoncepts kit I originally planned on buying).

My IS300 brethren are advising me to go with a better amplifier so I'm swapping out the Alpine amp with this...

XD400/4 - JL Audio 400W Full Range Class D 4-Channel Amplifier Features - JL Audio
    $373.99

    Thoughts?

Re: My first car audio build

I already decided that I would be using OFC... just a matter of which kit/brand. There are cheaper kits... I'll probably use the KnuKoncepts one but let's move past that.

Starting to realize most of this stuff is a matter of opinion besides the fundamental basic science involved. I'm just trying to modernize and improve my sound system.

I want to spend more time researching amplifiers before I make that purchase but the rest of it looks good to me. I guess asking a bunch of people who have been involved in car audio for some time what they think of one particular set up is a waste of time. I'm just a noobie looking for some opinions on the products I'm about to purchase.

Keeping the stock 6x9's on an IS300 is not really an option with an aftermarket head unit and amplifier setup. If I decide down the road to add a sub I might but it will be a discussion for another day.
