hahahhahahah.... a qrt mile away huh... the best i've ever had has been 3 blocks away... If you was right next to me at a red light or in a parking lot an I had it full tilt you would just hear very little bass and very little of the mids/highs until i roll the window down...

However, that tells us nothing about anything. As mentioned distance one can hear a system has nothing to do with how "loud" it actually is.
It is also a very stupid thing to be worried about as people who build system to annoy other people are very people who make this whole industry look very very bad.
