Does installing electrical wire instead of speaker wire make a difference for sound quality? Here's why I'm asking and why i'm reluctant to change the wiring
I bought this 1986 corvette with this previously upgraded dinosaur audio system, much of the wiring was professionally installed but feel as if certain corners were cut later on. Most of the wire feeding the front speakers from my amp is very thick speaker wire, but from under the dash to the doors, thinner electrical wire was used. Replacing the electrical wire will be a pain in the arse. The rear speakers have thinner speaker wire but can be changed easily as the amp is right there.
Here's what I just installed:
four JBL p963 6x9's (110 RMS/speaker) fed by a JBL 75.4 (4 channels at 104 RMS each)
I also have a 10 inch JBL sub overpowered and by a rockford amp.
So as you can see, I have a pretty good setup. I simply want to get the best out of what I have. even if that includes replacing the electrical wires
