    Loudest 6.5 components

Okay so in another thread of mine I was told running numerous sets of components probably isnt a great idea.

So.. in that case, Ill stick with one set up front, and possibly consider using rears. Im selling my polks to my buddy soon.

Any recommendations on the loudest 6.5" components you know of? I havent heard many sets of speakers at super high volumes..

I may consider running supertweets... not sure. I would have to custom mount them somewhere, which would involve a ton of work.. I think Im up for it. How do I get a 4 or even 2 ohm load if I did run supertweets, possibly crescendos?

Is there a such thing as a LOUD clear 6.5 mid?

sure you can get loud and clear, you won't be doing it with crescendo's though.

I am protesting Skar by giving them added exposure in my signature.

Focals 165 K2P's will get loud, so will Infinity Kappas. Maybe look into some 2 ohm versions of the CDT components.

PA mid and supertweeter of some sort. Bullet tweet or the AQ supertweeter are easier to mount then the CA XST. Something like that will be plenty loud and clear and much louder then a normal comp set.

    Components

Your talking about the 2 items at the bottom of that page right? The mid and the supertweet.

If so.. I read on their specs page (on the PA mid) that the tweets are 4 ohms, and the mids are 8 ohm. How the heck do I make that work? What about a crossover? Pretty sure amp crossovers dont go high enough to make that work.. at least my Kenwood doesnt.

I dont understand how to power them. The tweet needs 50W RMS max at 8 ohms, and the mid needs 100W RMS max at 4 ohms. How do you make that work..?

Loud and clear the Fosgate t2 comps they are ridiculously loud at low volumes they sound OK but at high volume they really shine, depending on what you budget is the hertz mentioned above also.

The DD coaxials I had a while back got very loud, I would imagine it would be the same for the comp set. I have some lanzar opti6pm's here that are pretty beefy that I have yet to amp, I'm pretty sure they will get loud

    Re: Loudest 6.5 components

The Boston Acoustics Z's were legendary for "loud". There was a guy here who had 400 watts to each of them... Originally $1000 IIRC, I see them on eBay at reasonable prices.

You run them "active" with an active capable HU, external processor, or combination of amp xovers/FMOD's.

You can use a 4ch amp, tweets off 2 ch's and they come with an inline cap for the HPF. For the mids run them off the other 2 ch's and set a HPF around 125Hz and use FMOD's for a 3500Hz LPF, creating your bandpass for the mids.
