help!

okay guys im new here and somewhat new to the whole car audio idea. but anyways i have an orion hcca 12" subwoofer and i need suggestions for a good amp to match it. right now i am thinking about getting the audiopipe 3000 1d. my only concerns is that i dont want to damage the sub. its rated at 2000 watts rms and 4000 peak so im wondering if its too much. i dont really think it will be but i want to confirm this from someone reliable. ive asked many people and cant seem to get a straight forward answer. any help is much appreciated

those HCCA's will take the power no problem. what coil config is your sub?

its the dual 4 ohm but im gonna take it down to 2ohm. thanks for the quick responses everyone! can you guys help with some box info? i know like 3/4" mdf but isnt there some type of good plywood u can use thats like better? idk im gonna have to have the box made but i have no idea on dimensions or anything on how big the port should be. i want to hit lows but i dont want to have to play only songs with lows to get it to hit lol. if it makes a difference i have a 1994 chevy caprice (same as impala ss. and has a big big trunk)

You could fit a lot in those trunks. Hit up ramdesigns to design a box for you. He does a pretty good job. Or DC creations will design or build and ship a box to you.
