Speakers don't sound loud enough
I have 2 x Daytona DCS812's ( 8 x 12 ) 150W RMS - 500Peak
And a 700Watt Cadence Amp.
My problem is that my friend's cars which have stock factory speakers and for some reason, their speakers sound both better and louder.
If i try to turn up my speakers a bit i start getting some distortion in the lower frequencies.
Could i be missing something very very basic here?
I also have a Plutonium GZPW 15XQ 5k Watt running on a separate 4k Watt Monoblock InPhase Amp which sounds just fine....
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
check your setting. your Low pass filter may be turned all the way up. gain about 1/3 to 1/2 (if needed...)
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
I currently have them on Full Range...
Should i switch them to Low Pass then?

Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
you need to put a highpass filter on... to maybe about 80.. test different numbers though
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
most likely a combination of shitty subs and shitty amp, coupled with no friends whom know what their doing in car audio. Might want to try a stereo outreach center.
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
it's not the equipment, it's the install. my guess is you are lacking seals. take pics of your speaker mounting.
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
thats what im thinking. deaded your doors and turn on the high pass. you dont want ur door speakers doing the work of the sub.
Re: Speakers don't sound loud enough
deadening isn't as important as seals. factory speakers have excellent seals. aftermarket installs have no seals. you need to add weatherstripping foam to the back and front of the speakers to create seals. the thickness depends on the install. use the OEM speaker as you guide for the thickness of foam required.
