Icon32 is this a decent price for my car stereo

    Alpine CDA-9825
    Eclipse EA3422 4 channel amp
    and these eclipse 3 way 6" x 9"s and 4" 2 ways(they are designed to work together i think)

the stereo is going to be installed in a '66 chevelle and will require custom work so im having my freinds dads shop do it and he wants $750.00, fully installed and done up. the shop is Soundsations in Newhall, California.

~$580 for the amp and speakers ... and installation. Guess that sounds ok.

I'd be tempted to just go with an Eclipse component set up front with a 2 channel amp and ditch the rear fill. If you think you need the rear fill, then either run them off of the head unit or keep the 4 channel. Just my 2 cents.

SC8362 6.5" component set up front
(SP8692 6.5" point source for rear)
(PA4212 2 channel for components, rear fill off of head unit)
(PA5422 4 channel to run everything)

A muscle car, and a Chevelle sure isn't an exception, deserves something top notch.

my chevelle is completely original. therefore cutting is not allowed. there is an original speaker up front and that is going to get pulled and replaced with the 2, 4 inch speakers. then the 6x9s are going to be mounted flush on the back deck below the rear window. also this is just the basic beginning. when i have more money im putting in a shitload more myself. but back to the question. 580 for amp and speakers and install, what about the cd receiver? i can talk this guy down more because he is my freinds dad and he needs work.

TALK HIM DOWN WAY MORE...hat is a ****ing rip off. CD player, front and rear COAXIAL speakers (not components) and a 4 channel amp is a rip off big time for $750. I would pay AT most...installed...$500. peace

So it's a basic install. Nothing custom ... just swapping speakers and putting in a CD player. Flat out, I wouldn't pay $750.

Re: is this a decent price for my car stereo

    ok then
im doing this myself so if you guys could give me some help on saving money that would be much appreciated.
i figure i will do this:
    5.25 in. components
    a US Acoustics USB4064 amp
6x9 in. 3-way speakers in the back
and like a $170.00 head unit
i have to stay within the 700-750 dollar range
    thanks
