does your system sound good at low volumes?

i know the goal of a lot of folks on here is to sound really good AND really loud. however, i'm interested in sounding good and accurate at very low volumes as well.

in general, is this possible with some huge subs riding in the trunk? should subs push just as accurately when running quietly (ie: quiet enough to talk over in a normal speaking voice)? or is the bass sacrificed once you turn 'em down?

i'm hoping my soon-to-arrive subs and amp can sound good even when i've got my HU turned WAY down, as well as when i'm blasting past the max.

ya they should b just fine, i do it all the time wen im cruising and talking or jus get tired of the muzik f*cking cranked lol

sometimes i have to turn the sub vol down on the hu cause it puts out 2much bass at the low vol but other than that its fine

Mine sounds absolutely clean and kick *** low when it's on a low volume. As I turn it up it sounds decent, but it's loud enough lots of rattles come around and start to **** me off, but if I fixed all those rattles it would still sound really clean.

Will you be using a sealed box or ported? In my personal experience the sealed box sounds nicer/cleaner at low volumes. I know it has a lot to do with the general set up but I find that when Im ported and lower the volume my bass can overpower my highs.

Yeah, my low end overpowers the highs badly, but I like it that way, I'm not much of a treble fan. Stock mids are plenty good for me, just lacking midbass.

i'm going sealed, for sure. i don't want any super-long bass tails, or extreme volumes for that matter. i'm not really a fan of any particular frequency (bass included). i just want to get as loud as i can, and sound as close to the original recording as possible.

anyone else sounding good/bad when bumping quiet?

I have a remote bass controler..so it isnt a problem for me.
