My son wants to hookup aftermarket 4 ohm speakers to the Chevy OEM radio that has 8 ohm orig speakers in front and rear of his Blazer. What will happen? Thanks, Pete

Depends....but more than likely watch the chev oem deck go poof. Have a look and see how they are wired. He may be ok.

Most likely deck gonna go boom. Even if it doesn't go boom it's gonna have problems with CDs skipping (if applicable) and such from the extra heat.

Depending on the speakers that he's putting in there, they may sound worse than stock. Some the Boston stuff is designed to run off of 35RMS and they do pretty well off of an aftermarket HU power, but most stuff will be severely underpowered and sound worse than keeping the stocks. Unless he's adding a sub, I wouldn't replace the stock speakers unless they're designed for low power applications, and even then a small amp will make a huge difference over the SQ you can get out of a HU's internal amp.
