    3 or 4 subs?

i narrowing my decisions down for an upgrade. i have come to the conclusion that i will either run 3 alumQs wired to a 1ohm stable amp or run 4 subs wired to 2 amps at one ohm or 1 amp at 1ohm stereo.

if i choose 3 ill be running about 1.5 cubes per sub sealed. if i run 4 i have a chance to get a big box for my truck bed *i have a bed cut* that seats 4 12s and is vented down the middle with the subs facing inward/forward at about a 60 degree angle. im not sure what the box is tuned to. im hoping its around 40hz.

of course everyone WANTS 4 but i dont want to mass up for subs and amps with 4 subs and all the wiring configs. money isnt REALLY an issue but that doesnt mean i want to spend it all on stereo, i want to save as much as possible but still rattled my windows. if i went 4 subs i was thinking of going 4 MA Audio XE series 12s.

i also found these SPL brand subs that hold more wattage and the specs seem OK but im not sure if they are a trustable company

    what do u guys think?

4 subs will be easier to power, that is for sure...

    Re: 3 or 4 subs?

    XEs are 350rms - 80 bucks
    XLs are 600rms - 120 bucks
    alumQs are 1krms - 100 bucks
    SPL subs are 600rms - 80 bucks

any ideas? 4 WOULD be other than the fact the alums are dual 6ohm, so 3 can go to 1ohm very easily
