Tutorial on how to Pack heavy batteries...

ok i was busy doing this battery thing all day today, all in all lifted about 5k worth of batteries (loading, unloading, packing, then drop-off at fedex) so i thought id take some pics to let people know WHY i dont sell these for cheap (i charge for pain and suffering ) lol. anyways....

    C&D'S FROM MY BUDDYS HOUSE

SPRINTERS AND C&D'S ALL UNLOADED INTO THE HOUSE

BOXS FOR THEM ALL (ALL OF THEM RE-ENFORCED WITH HEAVY DUTY TAPE)

ALL THE 1/2 MDF BOTTOM PLATES AND 1" STYROFOAM FOR INSIDE THE BOX

INDIVIDUALLY CUT EACH PIECE 15X13 FOR THE 16X14 BOX

    PUT IT IN THE BOX

THEN PUT STYROFOAM PEICE ON INSIDE OF BOX ON TOP OF MDF

THEN PUT 106 POUND BATTERY IN BOX

THEN PUT STYROFOAM AROUND IT AND MAKE SURE ITS A TIGHT FIT

THEN PUT 2 LAYERS OF STYROFOAM ON TOP OF THE BATTERY

Re: Tutorial on how to Pack heavy batteries...

That's pretty much how manufacturers package them and most of the time it works. If they get dropped or kicked around alot though that styrofoam just busts to **** and the batt goes crashing around in the box

I've had some batts show up alright that way and one beat to crap.

Only thing I'd add is to throw a little glue on the bottom flaps of the cardboad box to give the bottom so more strength so it doesn't bust out. The pieces of MDF definitely have to help that though.

its taped up and not going anywhere. yea other than thin plywood all the way around this is the best way i have found that works. the plywood would put me other the limit for weight on pick up and drop off.
