Can I fit a Deck and EQ in a Chrysler Oversized slot?

I have a 2000 Dodge stratus. Right now I'm running a chrysler oversized deck, Pioneer DEH-P47 because it looks nice and I didn't want a normal deck with a mounting kit in there.

However, I am doing some research, and I might want to look into a nice EQ, I don't know if I'm going to go all out with a 30 band one, but at least something that will let me adjust my sound more than what most decks will let me know.

    Here is my question:

How big are the EQ's? Can I fit a normal Deck and an EQ "cleanly" into a chrysler oversized (1.5 din?) slot?

That would be very nice if I can do that, I guess if you can tell me how big most EQ's are, that would be great. Thanks.

Wow, thanks. I haven't done any research yet, but can someone name a couple of decent EQ's to look at? I'll be running a set of components and a 12" Digital Designs sub, if that matters.

    Thanks.

Kenwood makes a nice parametric eq 1/2 din size. The KGC-6042A. A very nice unit.

Can you adjust your components AND sub with this unit? I honestly don't know what is to be adjusted on a sub.. but anyways..

Do you run yours in 9 or 11 band mode? Is there a huge loss with only 8db adjustments instead of 12db? Just curious.

What price can I expect to find this? Should I be able to get one for around $100? Thanks for all of your help.

Also, do I run the speaker wire from the amp to the eq, then to the speakers? Or is it different than that? Thanks.

The Kenwood is 9 bands and the other two are if you are running subs. The cost will vary. You could probably find a good deal on ebay. The way to hook it up is you run RCA's from the HU to the EQ, then another set of RCA's from the EQ to the amps.

I owned a Pontiac GP with the oversized deck and they do make some decent mounting kits to install a normal 1 din HU and 1/2 din EQ.
