How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
How do I stop my rear deck speakers from being beaten to death by my subs in the trunk? I'm want to purchase some new coaxials but don't want for them to have their voice coils ripped apart from the air pressure.. Is there such a thing as "enclosed/sealed" speakers for the rear deck?
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
usually people just take out the rear deck speakers. but if you wanted to keep them i don't think it'd be too hard to seal them yourself.
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
baffle baskets...tsunami or some company like that makes some. circuit city use to carry them....or just make soe ugly ones out of fiber glass
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
fiberglass sounds like a lotta work. I can't seem to find a sort of "baffle kit" anywhere:crap:
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
take them out, nobody uses rear fill...
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
if i don't use them, then 1/2 of my mid/high potential is gone.. i don't have the skills to do any custom mounts. So unless there's some loudazz 6.75" front door speakers out there, that can compensate for the lack of 2 rear speakers..
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
throw them in the sub box as rear (un)poly fill :P~

haha maybe I could lock the coils with superglue. I don't want them wasting any energy on low frequencies anyways
Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
gotta be careful of the VBA (violent bass air) ......

do you have your front stage on an amp? Most of the time a single component set on some power will easily keep up with the substage unless you are just crazy like half the people on here that need 4 sets of components per door.

crutchfield also sells speaker baffles

Re: How to stop rear deck speakers from being abused by subs in the trunk?
thx for the baffle link:p:. was searching under baffle kits and stuff
I am planning on getting a t400-4 to match up with the 2 t1500-1bd's, and don't want wasted power. thats why I'd prefer using front and rear deck speakers, unless there's some single coaxials that handle 250+
