well as far as i know they dont have anything that would resemble a turn on/off switch or anything... just dont hook up any speakers to it so u dont draw power from it. that should do it.
btw. why would u want to turn it off... just curious

alright thats cool i dont have it hooked up to any speakers. I just wanted to conserve power cuz i have 3 power wires running to my stock alt and battery. Dont wanna fry my car's electrical system.

it's in the manual page 23 and 24 titled setup. press the F/setup button until pwr-ic is displayed then turn it off CC
try reading the manual. I just recently turned mine off on my 7897 and I really can't tell a diference.
