    System help for my Comet

I am nearing the end of the restoration of my 63 Mercury Comet and it's time to deal with the sound system. I have enroute 100 sq foot of the second skin product. In order to keep the dash looking original I bought a sytem from Custom Autosound. It is their USA-6 with 10 cd-changer http://www.custom-autosound.com/prodList.php?FamID=9 . I also bought their kick panels with 6 inch pioneer speakers. I previously installed a pair of 3 1/2 Blaupunkt speakers in place of the original mono speaker, they are located in the center of the dash facing up. I would like to put some 6 x 9's in the rear deck. I need advice as to what speakers would work well in the rear, has the radio enough power, should I get a 4 or 6 chanel amp as I will be powering 3 sets of speakers. How should I configure the front "sound stage"? Is this a good place to buy? http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/

    Thanks
    don

4 speakers powered by an amp is more than enough. 1 set of good components is the best. But if u really want to put 6/9's in the rear deck then thats fine, even tho they distort quicker than round speakers. I say get a nice component set for up front then some decent coaxials for the rear. For components it depends on how much u want to spend.

Re: System help for my Comet

Thanks for the reply, I found a definition and see that the components do what I wanted for the front...taken from Crutchfield

"Component systems, or separates, use a superior speaker design to give you the best possible sound. A typical separates system includes 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 external crossovers all of which are designed to work smoothly with one another."

Coaxials for the back, sounds fine, do I need a 4 channel amp to drive it all?

The deck will power your 3.5's and a pair of 6X9's by itself. You only need a 2 channel amp for the 6.5's, unless you also intend to do a subwoofer in the future.
