Icon32 Which setup for best sound (sub positioning question)

    Ok i have a RE XXX 12 in a 2.5ft^3 box tuned to 30Hz in a 1989 olds cutlass supreme should i
a: take the say way out and toss it in the trunk facing the rear and modify the rear seat and rear deck to let sound in the cabin.

    or

b: Remove the rear seat (never use it at all) and make a sort of wall where the seat back was and custom amprack where the seat bottom was and completely seal off the trunk.

I would like to do B but if it is not going to yield better sound i wont waste my time.
    thanks
    -Ian

no one can tell you what will sound better. you are going to have to try everything you listed and see what you like best.

Re: Which setup for best sound (sub positioning question)

The one that people say is supposed to work the best is toward the rear of your car, facing a hard wall because it keeps the initial waves in phase with the reflected waves...

However, like everything in car audio, it doesn't always work and you do have to experiment with different locations and angles...The one that actually works best for me in my S is upside-down, rotated about 30° toward the cabin...pretty random, no?
