    Is my box too big?

As some of you know, i have a 10" SE in a 1.7 cube sealed box in my regular cab. Now, to me i think it's louder than my 2 10" 4000's i had. Some people think it's just as loud. Now one thing i know for sure is that it goes WAAAAAYY deeper than the 4000's did. Is it possible that my box is too big for the sub, and that's why it's not louder than the 4000's? I should really get it metered and see what it puts up. The 4000's hit 128.1 in boxes that were .6 cubes per sub.

Also, do you think i can put 2 SE's in 1.7 cubes? I was contemplating getting another one(i have the power for it), but that would also require building a new box.

hmm, 1.5 cubes. Wonder how much wood i'll have to cut to displace that much. Do you think 1.7 cubes is enough for 2 10" SE's?

the bigger the box, the lower the the reach.

also remember if ya put two subs in, the subs displacement will lower the boxes volume....but surface area equals spl....or something like that...hehe(more displacement, more dbs)

same amp, smae vehicle..in theory the two 4000's in 1.2 ft^3 sealed would be louder then a single ten 10 in 1.7 sealed(the displacement thing).but one 10 in a correctly ported box could be louder then those sme two 10's

overall...get the second ten..port if ya can and get loud

Well, the thing about that is it's not the same amp. The 4000's had about 125 RMS to each and the SE has ~650-700 going to it. Do think 1.7 is enough for 2 10"s though?

no way is he gonna fit that in a single cab pickup. since ur 1.7 ten is sealed i'd port that sucker. thats what u need, cuz an SE with 700 watts should be way louder than 2 mtx 4000's. tune it around 30-35. its what u need dude. forget the second 10" for now.

Can't port it either. Talked to Jmac about it and i can't fit a port in there that would be the tuning frequency i need and he also said there would be alot of port noise. F*cking regular cab.

So the only option for louder would be building a new box and getting another SE, unless someone can figure out how to fit a port into my box. It has to come out the top because the rest of the sides are blocked. Here's a link to the dimensions.

if jmac cant do it then i wouldnt even bother lol.

My 2 10" SE's are in a 2.3ft^3 box. They get crazy loud. I think u should put each SE in like 1.2 cubes a piece. Let me tell u if u get another, in that little cab, whoaa its gona be loud!

1.2 cubes a piece DEFINITELY is not possible. The box i built for the single SE is 1.94 cubes, and that's as big as it's gonna get. If i build a box for 2, it's gonna have to be smaller than that too. So we're talking about .7-.8 cubes MAX for each sub.

hmmm, .8 cubes a peice should do fine. Do u have room to invert the sub? probably not, then u could squeeze more space outa the box. i would call RE and ask them but .8 should be legit.
