2003 VW Jetta - Removing HU and door panels?

Just bought a 2003 VW jetta. It has a stock double din HU, tweeters in the A pillars, etc.

Anyone do an install on these? I need to figure out how to remove the stock HU and door panels to install some comps.

frim what ive seen the design in the 2003's is the saem as the later 99gen. just put your hand inside the empty pocket/dinspace and give the plastic molding a yank, it should pop right out. however doing this on a passat can be very difficult....but all the golfs/jettas ive worked on this dinspace-pocket thing popped right out with a small yank
fomr there- your gonna need thin pieces of metal to put in the thin slots by the seek/tune rocker buttons......you should be able to wiggle it out then...good luck.....sometimes it pops right out..other times it can take a good 20mins or so of plain around if u dont have perfect tools and all..

You will need a specific set of european keys to (properly) get the stock HU out.

Not sure about the door panels..I have done them before, but its been a while. The only thing i remember is if there is some woodgrain on the handles, there are a couple screws under it.
