I am posting this thread to answer a few questions that have recently been asked of my by forum memers.
here goes
Up until recently I have sold Second Skin direct. from me, to the public.
This saves customers money and helps get the product name and reputation out to the masses.
Recently I have dont a lot of research, and spent a lot of money time and energy on getting Second Skin Audio up to par with my competitors and my own expectations.
This month alone I have spent in the area of $6500 on upgrades to the business.
for a small one man operation this is a nice chunk of change.
In order for Second Skin to grow, I need to sell though distributors. I can only sell so much on my own.
Once distributors start selling it to the public for me the price is going to go up. there will now be a middle man who will need to make money on the product as well. I also will need to raise th preice a bit to pay for things like: special boxes, labels, silk screening, professional printing etc...
Second Skin Audio will no longer be a small 1 man opperation.
My goal is to gross $100k in 2004.
even the increased price will still be a good deal compared to the vibration and sound dampers sold at most stereo shops.
The new website will be done in about 2 weeks, and will offer Second SKin prices at MSRP. This is to encourage ppl to buy from local distributors.
I will still offer the same discount to forum members. no price increase there. but forum members will not get the fancy box or labels or literature. just the box with the Second Skin in it.
I hope this clears things up a bit.
