Need Help making Home Theater with car subs

I wanted to put 3 15s in my living room in a triple bandpass box. Or should I just go with 2 15s with the dual bandpass box ?

Would that be a good idea or should I separate the boxes, meaning get a bandpass box for each sub? I am sure that they will sound louder in bandpass boxes since they will be in my living room.

I am still comtemplating on how to wire these speakers. Since they will be 3 15s. If it is too hard to wire three then I will just go with 2.

Also, who makes good subwoofers for under a 100 ? I was thinking about the JBL's GT150D 15s that are rated 250 RMS and 1000 MAX with a FREQUENCY of 20 - 400 Hz OR the Pioneer TS-W384DVC 15s that are rated 350 RMS and 700 RMS with a FREQUENCY of 15 - 1,500 Hz. ALSO, both models are DVCs.

    Thanks,

    Mike

why would u want bandpass. That would be very not good especially for a home theater sub. U shouldnt need 3 15's either. 1 15" should do u good put it in a ported box tuned real low. Movies have explosions and stuff that are really low notes. Bandbass ***** IMO.

bandpass is definetly not necessary, The sub will be about twice as loud or more in yoru livign room because theres no road noise or anything. go sealed or ported like capone said. I have a paradigm 12 in my basement sealed getting 150watts and absolutely everythign down there rattles, so do whatever you want, but boomy bass and movies dont mix, and thats exactly what bandpass is.

All your HT needs is 1 15", a vented box tuned low (20-22 is good) and a cheap plate amp...

Re: Need Help making Home Theater with car subs

I plan on using the subs for my music, too because they will be hooked up through my computer for MP3s. So it will be used for both movies and music. Maybe even for house parties if I get the extra time

Also, how do I run the sub if I decide on using 2 (such as, what do I run it to) ?

Re: Need Help making Home Theater with car subs

I want the subs primarily for the bass because I want my apartment building shaking and people complaining in the next building about my music...

Anywayz, I will have enough room speakers to my home speakers. Which receiver would be good to run the amp with the subs attached ??

Wouldn't the bandpass box be louder than a ported or sealed box anywayz, especially since I want to use the subs for music ?

Re: Need Help making Home Theater with car subs

Well whatever you do, look for subs that can be wired into 4ohms. Most plate amps put out there most power @ 4ohms. So if you want 2 subs, look for two 2ohm subs, two dual 4ohm subs, two 8ohm subs, etc. You really only need one sub for a HT...
