    mounting to back of box

    i have very little room left to where i can put the amp where i want it, so it will have to be mounted to the back of the box. Can i just drill it in or do i need/should use rubber grommits?

    you can prob just drill into it, the wood ownt conduct electricity... and should be stable enough..

    well the rubber gromits would be for vibrations, if they would make that much vibration. box is 4.5cu at 35hz. two alpine type r's. built with .75inch thick mdf if that helps

    i wouldnt worry about it if its secured good enough.. try it out.. doesnt seem right to you.. add em, but i never had a problem without em

    Been fine for years in various setups with my amp mounted to the back of the box. Also have used rubber gromits a time or two.

    If you can get them, just use those, if not, should be fine.

    you got to do it sometimes. i have my amp on my box just used some rubber spacers and its pretty solid

    Vibration can damage some amps over a period of time.

    yeah well no matter how hard you bolt it down.. its gonna vibrate along with the car.. plus pot holes.. speed bumps ect...

    just get it down tight as possible...

    Maybe, but in my case I never had any problems. Like I said, if so worried about it, then get the rubber gromits and will be fine.
