    remote wire

    I want to put a system in my sisters car but she has a stock HU. How can i find what wire is the remote turn-on? And there is no sticker that labels the wires. So what the hell can I do?



    97' Ford Probe..
    Sub - 2 18" FI BTL's shipping at this moment.
    Amp - undecided, help plz
    H/U - Kenwood Excelon x779
    Wiring - Lots of 1/0 gauge, where should I buy from?
    Box Specs - Dunno yet

    First of all the car's HU has to have a remote wire from the deck. if it doesn't then your out of luck. On cars that have power attenna's you can use this lead as the remote.

    In terms of finding out which is what. You would have to get a technical mnaul for the car for that.

    You could run a power lead with a switch as your remote lead, this would also let you turn your system on and off at will.

    My suggestion is, why stick with the factory HU, even with good line convertors a stock deck will never sound as good as an after market one.
