Newbe question for the not so new...

Ok, this may be a kinda dumb question, but here it goes......

Would adding a HU with dual pre's (one obviously dedicated to the subs) noticeably make my sq better? Right now I have one with single pre's, and I'm wondering if the sq will be much better if I get one with dual.

It would be better as long as the pre outs have a decent voltage say 4 volts.

This is what Alpine decks have or you could go really high end and get an Eclipse deck that has either an 8 or 10 volt pre outs cant remember which for sure.

Ok, in regard to my first reply, what would be a good head unit with 4v pre-outs for around $300?

If you are only running one amp then changing out your HU probably won't make much of a difference, other than just what you would get with the voltage increase. What voltage are your current pre-outs? With only a voltage change you won't see much of a difference. You would want to change out your HU for other reasons, features, etc.

the pre's on my pioneer are only 1.5v, I think...may be 2, but I'm not positive....doubt that helped

I just got my 9815 and I swear it's worth the extra money for this HU! 1 week later and I am still reading the manual to work the billion options that it has!
