    Pre Outs and AMP

    Hey guys, how goes?

    I just got my new deck..but the preout voltage is 4V, while the max gain on my amp is at 2V.....can i hook up my deck to the amp??

    Bummer. What amp can only handle 2 V max? Seems real low.

    You could make a simple voltage reducer with some reesistors. But first I'd try the amp with the gain all the way down and see if it clips with the HU at max output.

    I have seen a ton of posts saying it is ok to run a 4 volt deck, for example, to an amp that only handles 2 volts. They say a 3:1 overlap is fine.
