Good head unit, although the graphics get old, quick.

Is this not a reasonable place to park?

That Pioneer Unit is an excellent choice if you are going to be going the whole nine-yards in setting up your system. The time correction on it makes a big difference in sound quality and the 4-volts out (I think it has 4-volts, the new DEH-P940 has 6-Volts) adds a lot of "umph" to your amps, and the built-in EQ are a nice touch too. You probably won't be using it much though, most people use the auto EQ and let the machine set up EQ.

The graphics do get old, but you can upgrade them if a dealer has the right equipment and program around where you live (you can program your own stuff too!), but then again, all displays get old after a month or so, this give you more to choice from before you get bored!

As for the Premier vs the normal Pioneer, don't worry about it. The only real difference is that the Premier has a 2 year warranty as oppose to a 1 year warranty. There are slight difference with some of the other stuff, but the DEH-P9300 and the DEH-P930 basically the exact same unit. You usually see smaller mom and pop shops having the Premier, cause it gives you the impression that it is a better line.

Bottom line, get it if you have or planning on doing a complete system, get it. It will be a big upgrade from your 7200.

    Kenwood

I've been a loyal supporter of Kenwood ever since I have started to drive, and I have to say that I am really disappointed with their product line this year. They look and feel very cheap. I also really am disappointed with the controls of the units, too many freaking menus and screens to access to change your settings.

As for the 840MP or the 740MP, it really depends on if you are looking for sound quality or for looks. The 840MP has the cool swing open face, but it really isn't any different then the 740MP. They are pretty much the exact same deck except for that face that the 840MP has. So just ask yourself if it's worth the extra $200 (at retail at least, i have no clue on how much you can get it for).

Now the Alpine CDA7995, nice unit. Just keep in mind that you will have to have amps for it to work (non powered unit). Sound quality will be better (you noticing the diffenence because of your ears or speaker qaulity is an entirely different matter).
