What was the point of RE selling on Woofersetc

I thought part of the reason for RE to no longer sell factory direct was to support their dealers. Well I went to Woofersetc and see they are an authorized RE dealer. Although you are better off getting it from a dealer, it just seems odd to continue selling online. My guess is its for people who do not have a dealer near them.

Re: What was the point of RE selling on Woofersetc

    think of it this way

an internet company starts selling there subs direct for $100

if its a badazz sub, everyone wants one

then they raise the price a little, people sill buy them

then they start selling them instores for more money and people still buy them, maybe because a lot of people arent online much and havent heard about them and like what they see for the money

then the owners sell the company to someone else and go start another internet company and start all over again

Re: What was the point of RE selling on Woofersetc

idk, but woofersect.com is ****ing awesome. I'll vouch 100% for their legitimacy.

I've bought too amps from them. The second time they didn't have the one I ordered so they gave me a better one for the price of the cheaper one ($100 difference).

Basic marketing and business practices. Put your product in as many mediaries as possible and you make big big bucks.

Many car audio companies do not go that route. As I said before in many cases they want to support their dealers. But also they want as few people installing their own stuff as possible. I know Diamond will reduce your warranty if you install the product yourself. They want it profressionally installed so their product won't be judged based on a bunch of third rate installs. Many companies in this business do not just throw their products out there to wherever they can.

Aren't subs bought directly from RE and their dealers a lot cheaper than Woofersetc.com?
