Genesis is a Brittish Manufacturer of ultra high quality amplifiers. There are only a few select retailers here in the states that import them. Originally I was going to use Phoenix Gold Amplifiers, however, I stumbled upon these and based on the specs, and information I obtained from the company directly, they appear far more impressive. I will post a complete review of these amplifiers once I have them installed and am able to abuse them a few weeks.

For more information on Genesis Amps- go here:

Well Zane...that seems like a nice little set-up there...no much in the signal path to screw the sound up...and not a ton of subs...Sound Quality at it's best!

Pretty good, I would use a higher Q headunit, but it's alright. Let me know how you like the four.1, I have the THREE.1 and an epic-150 running from an Alpine 7876. Nice setup. Make sure the thoose tweets don't get too much power, they are very sensitive

Pure Simplicity in design for the purest sound possible.

    - Yes I do compete in IASCA, USAC, and other local SQ events.

    K.I.S.S. philosiphy the whole way.

In regaurds to the head unit- it was chosen becuase it will best work with my system requirements. I dont need all the other hoop-la BS that comes on the higher models- it only gets in the way and interferes with natural sound. Just because a certain head unit is not the most expensive or top of the series, does not mean that it is not quality. A simple 1 pre-out 35wx4 cd/tuner would likely not be be suitable for a serious audiophile in most cases, just in the same as a 3 pre-out, internal EQ, spectral anylizing cd/tuner in a novice- street only car.

A simple model number weather it a higher or lower number, does not make it any more or less better than the others.

There shouldnt be a problem with the tweets at all, the crossovers that morel includes are of excellent design and really some of the finest I have seen on the market today. From previous auditions of these speakers, the tweeters behaved quite well, even with my patented "Cover your eyes and turn buttons testing." With these and the Audio Control Four.1 inline- everything should flow nicely!

The woofers were strong and well defined, especially in the 80-120hz range. Overall, I selected these components as the were able to keep up with virtually all of my vigorous SQ test tracks, and general listening effortlessly, listening to the Hybrid 6 is incredible envigorating- I would highly reccomend that anyone who has the chance to hear these, to give them a good workout- they will not leave you dissappointed.

The car this system is going in is currently in restoration, as it will be a classic next year and I am working with it from the ground up to bring it back with a twist of class, and a deviation from the norm.

Currently I am rebuilding the engine/drivetrain and adding a few high performance goodies. The interior of the car is basically complete now, and the custom hood and side skirts will be installed in about a month- to a month and a half- depending on how much longer the engine takes. Soon after that- (mid spring) I have it set for a complete paint job- after that- its system time. So while this is a little off in the near future, this is how things are looking now. Once complete, I will post some before and after pics, as well as give a complete review of the entire set up. Once the sound system is in- it is freely open for anyone to audition for themselves- so long as I know about it in advance.

This is definately going to be an interesting car and system all the way arround. I'll keep you posted.

    Take it easy,
    -zane

I actually just changed jobs, I was laid off of my former job as a DS1- UNE technician for a large communications company. The company was doing quite a bit of cutbacks, and recently filed for bankrupcy- so either way- this was inevitable.

Right now, I am an Office/Field Supervisor for a medium size construction and custom woodworking company. I basically oversee office operations and and work with the field crew to make sure things are done right- I am also the computer system admin for the same company- which ammounts to making sure the website is updated, records maintained, and troubleshooting any problems that may arise. In a nutshell, I just make sure that the computers do what they are supposed to do. (--hides duct tape and hammer behind back-- )

thats me- I just keep really busy- that is all there is to it. I can honestly say that I earn each and every dollar I make.

    Hardwork does pay off, sometimes!

What I meant was you could get a better signal if you used the 16v balanced line outputs. They do make an adapter for the eclipse head units. But then again you may not have the need for a 16v balanced line.

do things that are needed if you want output voltage i can show you how to use an amp as a line driver but if you dont have noise what is the point? especially if you use regualar speakers i used to run mack daddy horns with 112 db eff. but personally i like sony mobile es hu's. my c-90 sounds as good as my friends tube cd player hehe on his home set up.

Nope. Dont need 16V outputs. I may be the only SQ person to say that, however, I believe that if everything is installed correctly- they should not be necessary. The 5V outs that the cd5441 comes with will be perfectly fine.

The car is basically getting most of its electrical system re-worked and modernized- so interference should not be much of an issue either. If by some very slim chance some is picked up, there are several things that can be done to eliminate this.

Otherwise, as I said before- more bells and whistles just complicate the signal path and leave too many holes for problems to creep in.

    nice setup but....

what r u restoring? i'm more of a wrenchhead than car audio guy (though i'm learning), i'm more than a little curious when some talks about groundup restores. really what got my attention was " it'll be a classic next year" i'm assuming gm f-body? or is it going to be old enuff next year to qualify classic status? maybe a early '80's?

i know it has nothing to do with car audio, but what can i say?
i'd take a '67 L88 vette (that 427 tripower that audiolife was talking about) over a dozen w7's and the power to push them ANY day!! nothing beats 500 hp+(they were WAY underrated for insurance reasons!!eat your heart out jl and fosgate! nobady beats the big three in underrating;at least during the glory days of 100 octane gas and big gas guzzling carbs!!) screaming out of factory sidepipes at 5000rpm!! that'll set off car alarms and break glass!!

seeing how i'm rambling on i'll digress and go wipe the drool off my chin........PEACE

oh yea, the stereo set-up is sweet zane

hey mrray13, i know what your sayin. My dad has been sayin it to me since i was 5 years old. Since then i have become a car nut to just like my dad, kent. I didnt know anyone else had the name kent but back to what i was sayin. We just got out of restortin older car (mostly british and american muscle) and are now doin new repairables.

This is why i am tryin so hard to learn about car audio is so i can put a great system in my 98 grand cherokee (hard rollover but will be quite a vehicle for a 17 year old when done) I have a long way to go on the suv and learnin about car audio.

That quit the system there zane but i can only dream of have that much money to put into that simplistic of a system at the time. I guess im more in spl and a lil sq are the dressing on the cake.

    later
