Who Has dual 4 ohm voice coil speaker wired to 1 ohm???? i really really need help

i got my idmax's and my hifonics hercules amp installed............... The guys at the shop told me that a guy with a jbl 1200 watt amp was beating my 21 id maxes with 1 12'........... well that would be ok but i spent the extra $100 to get 300+ more watts then that amp..... they told me that they wired my subs at 2 ohm.... 1000 rms with that amp 500rms a piece maybe more at 14v i was like why didt u wire it doqwn to one ohm (the reason why i got dual 4 ohm voice coils) they said that the voice coils were acually rated at 3.7 or so ohms so i couldnt wire them down parallel to one ohm becuase it would be less then that and they went on a whole stent on how i needed to get another amp of the smae kind ($350) and how even amps that cost 900 or more dont work good at 1ohm so i got in the car and... it bumps..... but not as much as it should my friend has some wack mx audio alunimum subs hooked up to a 250 mtx amp he maybe hitting 500 watts and his would probably fall just a little short of my system.......(my 6'9s blew too so maybe thats part of it) but still it doesnt sound like 1000 watts they said maybe it was my cd players pre amp out outputs ......... but still .... i was thinking about it re xxx series subs have dual 1.7 ohm voice coils and people run them at 1 ohm parralel wired....... I was thinking about just taking the subs out and rewireint them paralel and going for the 1 ohm load anyway do u think this would destroy my amp?......... i mean its a hi fonics its not just a throw away amp

THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING they kept looking at my hifonics amp like it was low class like it was a walmart amp or something the hifonics amp wont get too hot if i wire them at 1 ohms will they or below one ohm as they put it.... something with the whole set up just isn't right i thought eve 1000 watts would much louder i mean it loud but still for some reason i think that there connected at 4 ohms can u do that with dual 4ohm voice coils? i think they wired each sub to 8ohms because im getting no light diming or anything with 2 amps hooked up off of my stock 70amp alternator......... they said that there wired at 2ohms..... but 1000 watts takes upo around 70 amps curreent right and i had it turned up for most of the night with the heat and my lights on since ill be getting a new alternator ill be able to run a fan in the back too but ive heard that the hifonics amp doesnt get hot do u think my power cord might have something to do with it curently i have a rf 2 guage wire with a 140 amp circut breaker hooed up to a 1 2 guage imput 4 4guage out put distribution block with 60 amp fuses in it and 2 4 guage wires put together running the hifonis.......... but i tested this also sorta...... i player master p and camrons's bout it bout pt 3 like 6 time (constant low bass) and not so much as a light flicker i meant i expected something if i knew that 1000 watts wouldnt take that many amp i would have saved the 350 i spent for a new alternator (coming on tuesday)

U cant even wire 2 dual 4 ohm suibs to 2ohms can you? u can only series wire them to 8 ohms each 4 ohms total................ thats only 500 watts with my amp..... but hey if i can get 3 times that thats gonna be crazy.......... so i should wire it down to 1 ohm? it wont get hot or bl0ow up or anything?

that amp seems to be wired goofy...

    (is this correct???
    XI-Hercules
    450x1 4ohm
    250x2 2ohm
    325x2 1ohm...... ))

since u have d4's go ahead and wire them at 2ohm..... i guess run 1 sub off 1 channel and the other off 1 channel... looks like each sub will ONLY get 250 watts.... kinda ***** b/c u won't have enough power to do anything

Wire each DVC sub to 2 ohms then to the amp , Bridge it and your at .5 ohm ohm per channel , If that amp is 1/2 ohm stable stereo your ok if not I wouldnt do it !

I had to edit I was wrong above

2 DVC 4 ohm subs will get you either a 4 Ohm load or a 1 ohm load
If you bridge your amp it wil be seeing 1/2 ohm per channel , Proly cant handle that , ! ohm bridged , Need specs for the amp to tell you

Ok I think I found your amp Hifnics Hercules 3000 watt ect , 1500 watts at 1 ohm , Optimized for 1 ohm , Yes its one ohm , Theres no Brigding it MONO ! So yes wire your subs to 2 ohm each and to your amp , Your at 1 ohm which is what the amo is designed for ! Shoud opound alot harder as your are doubling the power !

Is this your amp ? http://www.audiodiscounters.com/product_id/1156.html
