OK so round 2 went MUCH better... I actually feel like bragging. I have 1 last peice to do and it's drying so I had a little time.... to be honest I feel like a pro... now it better look nice in my car

Its definately better, but why not mount the rings, then vinyl the whole thing?

No doubt, peel the vinyl off, glue or screw the rings down, fleece and resin it, then vinyl the whole thing. Use some heat to help get the vinyl to stretch and use a good glue to help it set and it will look 100% better.

this way was easier and will produce much smoother/seamless results...
and I'm happy with attempt #2... getting the right glue helped fix the mumps look

I'm ok with this for now... I'm sure they'll get yanked within 3 months and something new done... if I hadn't screwed up my door panels in the first place I would have done a teardrop shape...
