    help me please........in reference to mdf

    what is mdf?? i know it's wood but is it what they use to make all the boxes or what? where can you buy it? how much does it cost?? thanks i know alot about audio but don't know jack about boxes.

    Medium Density Fiberboard. You can find it at pretty much any lumberyard, or building supply store. yep it's what is used most of the time. it runs anywhere from $15-$21 for a 4' x 8' sheet. I would stick with 3/4" thick for sub boxes.

    It's also known by a brand name called Melamine. You can get it in sheets 4'X2' in 1/2" or 3/4" thickness at Home Depot. They also carry pre-cut widths of 3/4 material for shelving.. 12 or 16" wide and 36 or 48" long. Easier to carry in your trunk, but a tad more expensive than the sheet.
