that's what I thought, but the rubicons have a good rep and it's never given me problems. I specifically bought it for it's small size and high output. It'll come in handy in my new 4runner, I can tuck it away so it won't make my install look bad. I think the diamond will look better... unless I can get rid of it! makin an amp do 500w with a small footprint is tough (well how big is it anyways?)
seeing an amp full of components doesnt mean its necesarily good.

the 1000-2 is 16x12 I believe. Not too shabby for a 1000 watt a/b ampoh i thought it was smaller than that

I'd take a old reference series over a Rubi any day of the week. I just got my hands on a working alpine amp, (well it will be here next week), that is about 30 years old, serial # 0001. It looks like a two story brick with large multiple heatsinks on it than run up and down instead of end to end.
