It's likes asking whats better the heat or the cold...both have similliar properties but two seperate functions.....The yellowtop is a deep-cycle batter and the redtop is a starter battery...easy as that...if you get a yellowtop I would get a yellowtop big enough that has enough CCA to start your engine and run your system...I have a Odyssey PC1700Id look into other names like kinetik....odyssey.....not against Yellowtop..just saying theres other options....it depends on what accessories you have to assume which battery you'd need...

Yellow top has a lower internal resistance and is made to withstand the extreme conditions of your system. They also recover from times you run them down completely. . .

Yellow top is designed to be drained and recover. This is the one you want for an audio application.
will teh yellowtop have enough CCA to start my engine?
i went to optimabatteries.com and it said this battery will fit my car.....

You guys think it will be a good upgrade?
Yes...
what kind of car is it? there are 1 or 2 kinetik 2400's for sale on the for sale part of the forum. if you dont compete it still offers you a lot more reserve than that size yellow top which means more time of hard running before you have to turn it down to recharge. just depends on whether or not it would fit. http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showth...=125429&page=2
