Sketching out mid-high end system, opinions?

So far...ive come up with these:

    Kicker SS 6.5" Infinity 2100m

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 dvc Infinity Reference 1211a

    Already have the Pioneer P860mp

    Pioneer P860mp

The guidelines I had to stay in were:
    a.) Any Kicker available
    b.) Most Infinity available
    c.) 80sq/20spl
d.) Fits in an '02 Camry

So far i see nothing wrong with the setup. Sure, the amps dont match, but who gives a fook. Atleast the amp for the components will match the sub cones.
I think im gonna glass the subs into the opposite wheel wells. The components are gonna go into the bottom left hand corner of the door, and the tweets into either the dash or the top right hand corner of the door.

if you have the xtra money, i would reccomend upgrading the sub to a VQ if you want to stay infinity. one of THE best sounding subs i have heard.

Looks like a good start. I am not too big on Kicker, but the infinity for squer's is a good way to go. Good luck!

Hmm...whats the difference between the vq's and the regular ones? The regular ones will cost me 71 each, and the vq's 111...so id like to know before i drop another 80 bucks.

im not very knowledgable about car audio. i know a little bit, but not enough to be able to understand how to 'change' the sub...
i just dont have the time i used to where i could sit and read and learn about it.

The sub comes with different pieces (I think it is pole pieces but i honestly forget) and they are interchangable.I imagine there is a huge difference when you get everything dialed in. I imagine they would sound better but for ease of use you could go with the regulars (plus when you get sick of them, and you will) it gives you something to upgrade to :P and should be able to sell your perfects easily to some local guy

For components I suggest Kappa Perfect 6.5's

they do sound better in diff applications its awersome

as for the comps...im kinda anti perfect lol i heard a pair in my friends car, the highs were good, not amazing, but the midbass was like zero.

Re: Sketching out mid-high end system, opinions?

Get the VQ's they are worth it ... friend ran them in an over-sized box as a set of temporaries and I still liked how they sounded (customizing the voice-coil pole piece made it possible) ... unfortunately he fried the one of them with his Alpine 1000W (don't know the model name) ... funny part was that in probably melting the voice-coil he got that replace-able piece stuck and we couldn't pull it out anymore, lol

Re: Sketching out mid-high end system, opinions?

I have kappa comps and i find the midbass on these is fairly good.. I shudl say I used to think it was wicked until I got sick of it and now i want extremis

personnaly I dont liek any kicker products i have ever heard, they get loud but they sound horrible doing it

Only advice I can give is listen to each SQ is ones own interpetation (right word?) what sounds bright to you might osund perfect to me or lacking to someone else.Everyone is different

Re: Sketching out mid-high end system, opinions?

Those kicker SS speakers are not bad, they do have more midbass then kappa perfects do. You do know that infinity makes a two channel amp that matches the sub amp right? The 7521a. If you had the money I would purchase a Kicker SX series amp though, thats what the last set of SS seperates I sold was run off of, and the fine tuning on them is great to getting it set up just right. Something like an SX400.2 or maybe a 600.2. Just my .02

Re: Sketching out mid-high end system, opinions?

I would get the 7521a, but i would have to buy it retail; infinity doesnt give it to us at cost. I could get the kicker sx 600.2 for 270 though, so i may try that, however i wanted to try to match amp brands; makes the install look a bit cleaner.
