? put the filter on LPF or low for low pass filter, what impedance is your sub (single 4 ohm or dual or?) what model is your amp?

How did you wire the voice coils on that sub? Did you run one channel of the amp to each coil or what?

Actually the wiring kits at Wal-Mart work fine... Not GREAT but they work.

You should take the sub out of the box and see about your impedance. If it's DVC 4ohm, like many HE2's are that ive seen, the amp won't push two ohms mono. You will need to wire it up on a MONO rca input and hook the wires up to each channel. One wire, pos to pos, neg to neg, from each terminal of the amp to each on the sub. This will neuter the power output... But it might get louder... Maybe. You need a different amp I'd say. My 12" HE2 took 1100 watts rms daily. that amp probably doesnt even get her to move...

if you have never seen or used a wal mart kit how did u determine it was crappy quality?? Just like the thread where people were *****ing about people recommending subs without ever hearing one. The wal mart kits really arent that bad. After all, i would believe most people would believe that wire is wire. Am i right? The only problem with there "4/8 gauge" kits is that they are actually 5/9 gauge.

Exactly There are better kits out there, no doubt. Wire is wire, but only to a certian extent... Which i don't really know. I use cheap chinese wire and $5 dollar RCA cables. It works good enough for me.

thats a completely differnt ball game. talk to the guys that use welding wire...they will all tell you....wire is wire, only difference is the pretty little shielding

That's certainly your choice. As so many people have already mentioned - while the Scosche brand wiring kits sold through Wal-Mart (and they've been doing so for a few years now ~ didn't you get the memo?!?) aren't great by any means they are certainly usable. Like anything else you simply need to be aware of what it is that you have and don't ask it to perform beyond it's capabilities and it should serve you just fine.

There are better options out there.
True - but that doesn't make the ones at Wal-Mart useless just 'cause there are better options available.

Wal mart is for shopping anyway...
Definition of shopping (taken from Dictionary.com):
    1. To visit stores in search of merchandise or bargains.
    2. To look for something with the intention of acquiring it.
Sounds to me that's exactly what took place....

just like why would people buy subs from wal mart??
Because they're new to the car audio scene and don't know any better? 'Cause all they had to spend on some bass was $60...sixty bux wouldn't get 'em anything at Best Buy/Circuit City/wherever and they didn't know to come look at the Classifieds here or on eBay? I'm certain the list of potential reasons is endless.....

    Jordantyler ~
I would suggest your problem lies with the amplifier you're trying to use is simply not enough amp to do that Fosgate HE2 real justice. And, if like previously mentioned, if it is a Dual 4 Ohm VC subwoofer, that Lightning Audio amp isn't suited to powering a driver with that particular configuration even if it did have enough output to do you any real good. Really what we need is specifics about that particular sub to really try to guide you further.
