what causes a fuse to blow?

k i was driving around doing a lot of errands today and the sub seemed to be working...i went home and went back out but then my sub wasn't working...i realized i blew my fuse in my dist. block...so i replaced it and everything seems to work fine...do u know why the fuse blew? this is the first time i blew it...and ive been driving almost 2 hours to and from school since this fall...so i dont think sub being on for a long time is an issue..
    thanks

a fuse blows because more current goes through it than it can handle.

If more amps were pulled than what the fuse could handle in a certain amount of time, then yes.

Re: what causes a fuse to blow?

just put a bigger fuse, you'll be okay.

    nah, just kidding

check your wires, see if they are warm after playing it for a little while, if it is, re do your connections with everything, maybe something is bad connection someplace.
