You'll see that because most people use them for their high amp numbers.

well yea, dats what i wanted to find out, as of right now i'm running 2 amps..
    for about 1500 watts...
but i will be expanding to about 1800-2000 watts in a few months...
but i was confused as to which battery could be used for what, i read that the red top is for starting, and the yellow is for an xtra battery, but can the yellow be used as main battery instead of an xtra, i just want to have the best so that i dont get stuck out in the middle of no where, again...
my alt died before and my battery quickly drained, now i habe a 105 amp alt...better then the 8o i had before....

the red top is a starting battery pretty much and isnt really made for big systems but the yellow top is a deep cycle and lasts longer with a system it is made to start the vehicle and run your system better with less strain if i remember right

deep cycle = slow charge & discharge--------meaning you shouldn't even use one in your car.

so why do people use them? when u say slow discharge, does that mean they drain slower? becuz i only see yellow tops.. are they just for use as a "system battery" ?

people use them cause everyone tells them to use them---- they are designed for taking the steady electricial load slowly discharging from something like a trolling motor and then be slowly recovered with a charger. They can also be used in an design where the alt is OVERLOADED and the battery needs to help with the load ALL THE TIME then be recovered at the end of the day------with reduced load on the alt so it can charge it OR a charger --------high cycling. THEY are not made for high current draws like a starting battery or a system ---though the site says to use them for systems. Read the FAQ on the site. They are not for high current rather they are for HIGH CYCLING---hence DEEP CYCLE

Well traditionaly they are for slow charges and discharges but the new gel celluar desing that they incorperate allows them to be used for normal car batteries. They have great success in most as a peice in a multiple battery setup.

no where in their web site or any other website did I see that a deep cycle battery can be use in a high current manner
