Box for Pioneer 2000SPL's
Okay, now that summer is here I have time to finally start building a box for my Pioneer 2000SPL's. My sealed 1.00 cu. ft. box isnt cutting it.
Pioneer's recomennded specs is a box that is 1.75 cu.ft. with a port that is 4" wide and 6.5" long, which I THINK is tuned to 38hz.
I want to make a box that is at least 2 cu.ft per chamber and tuned around 32-35hz.
Before I start askin people for designs, I was wondering why some of you have such huge boxes. I've seen people with 1 15" sub with like a 8 cu.ft. box... What are the advantages of a large box tuned to say 35 hz as opposed to a smaller box tuned to the same frequency?
Also, is there like a mathematical way to figure out port width and length from your box size?
