I helped a buddy design a long sealed box to fit behind the seats in a regular car dodge ram. (2) mtx 10's 6000 series and a bazooka 500watt amp. They were pretty loud for what they were too. We noticed a big difference from a ****** box to the long downfiring box. The sub were like a inch from the carpet, because we fabricated stilts for the box.
downfiring is the way to go. Give `em about a thousand watts and have fun.
you could also try to make a ported box using multiple long round ports that are positioned at the end of the box. Just make sure your subs wont hit the port(s)
