    Need help with box.

I have two Audiobahn 1206t's and I need to build a box for my civic. I've tried using George's tutorial but didn't make it very far... (I don't know what I should tune the box to, etc.) I currently only have the 12's on 500 RMS each. I'm not sure if I should go sealed or ported considering the 12's handle 1100 RMS a piece. My max dimensions for a box are 15hX28wX34d. The Audiobahn specs are listed below, if anyone could help me get started I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Audiobahn Box Specifications
All ports listed are circle ports unless otherwise stated. Surface area of a circle port = (3.14) X (radius) (squared)
Remember to build your box to the total volume, not just air space, as total volume includes all displacement.
    Model # AW1206T
    Space Saver Bass Design
Ported Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 1.3
    Port Size (Inches) 3 x 6.75
    Port Vel. (%) 34.65
    -3dB (Hz) 35
    Tune Freq. (Hz) 40
    Sub Disp. (Cu. Ft.) 0.25
    Port Disp.(Cu. Ft.) 0.024
    Total Vol. (Cu. Ft.) 1.5
    Everyday Bass Performer
Ported Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 2.3
    Port Size (Inches) 4 x 7.25
    Port Vel. (%) 19.6
    -3dB (Hz) 32.5
    Tune Freq. (Hz) 38
    Sub Disp. (Cu. Ft.) 0.25
    Port Disp.(Cu. Ft.) 0.046
    Total Vol. (Cu. Ft.) 2.5
Ultimate SPL Bass Box (Not Designed for Competition)
Ported Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 3.2
    Port Size (Inches) (2) 4 x 12
    Port Vel. (%) 9.65
    -3dB (Hz) 30
    Tune Freq. (Hz) 36
    Sub Disp. (Cu. Ft.) 0.25
    Port Disp.(Cu. Ft.) 0.165
    Total Vol. (Cu. Ft.) 3.5
A port velocity of 20% or under is good for everday use and 5% or under for SPL competition . Port velocity
translates to port noise, so the lower the number, the less port noise you will incur.
An EBP of less then 45 is SUGGESTED for only a sealed box and greater then 65 for a ported box.
    EBP 80
The larger a sealed box is, the lower the sub will play, but the less power it will handle. The smaller a sealed box
is, the higher the frequency the sub will play, and the more power it will handle.
    Model #1206T
    Sealed Minimum (Cu. Ft.) 0.5
    Maximum (Cu. Ft.) 1.25
    SPL (dB) 84.9
All sealed boxes already include the displacement for the subwoofer. NR = (Not Recommended)

assuming you want them to be loud as possible, and because they're greatly underpowered, i'd go ported, you have the space for it.

depends on what sound you're looking for. 20-30 hz for sq, 30-40 for sql, and 40-50 for spl.

I'm looking for that deep sounding bass that you feel in your chest. So about how many hz would that be?

I've tried using George's design walkthrough... but I don't completely understand what I'm doing... So I know my max dimensions and what I want the box tuned to... what do I do next?

    Re: Need help with box.

you're gonna have a really hard time figuring all this out quickly. you have to use trial and error. establish your port area, calculate your box volume with sub displacement, try a port length, calculate port displacement, subtract that from box volume, and calculate frequency.
