tuning question

so the manufacture site gave me port dimensions, i just build the box and put these in there, and will my box be good to go then, or do i need to do more?

If you follow the instructions to the tee, you will be fine. Unless you want to personalize your box to your taste. Like size and tunning.

Because for the average joe blow that is a good streat tunning. They don't EXPECT there customers to know how to properly tune a box so they give them a safe number of 40hz. Also tunning lower requires a longer port, which with the limited box building skills of the average consumer would complicate things.

if that's tru then why on here thay say that 40hz is grate for spl??but you say 40hz is for street i was told that 28 to 32 was for street and well 40 hz was for spl
or is it up to the sub and not really the sub???

40hz is still a streetable tuning #.....but more on the "SPL" side of the tuning. Not great for much other than rap, but still liveable for the majority of bassheads. A buddy I have that works for an authorized JL dealer had his 12W7 tuned to something like 42hz. 28-32hz is more of a sound quality ported setup.
