i say take the small ported because big sealed have a very loose sound to them IMO. but i do like the low end of a big sealed box.![]()
I say the biggest sealed.......I tried a small ported and all I got was hella midbass....unless you can do a somewhat large ported, stick with sealed.Originally Posted by jellyfish420

Small ported will not even touch the lows (which subs are supposed to play)especially if tuned high. The large sealed would be my choice in this scenerio, at least your mids could pick up the slack on the upper bass.
definately large sealed... the extra volume helps the lows
come through and gets you a little more output... the small
ported would just stiffle the sub...

will a large sealed get louder than a ported thats too small?
XXX15 in about 3.3 sealed, or XXX 15 in about 3.3 ported... wat about that

No.....a large sealed box actually has somewhat "decreased" output, but better low frequency extensionOriginally Posted by hdave
listen... hdave... i posted in your XXX box thread, but
i think i got overlooked...
i have been through the trials of having a 15XXX and not
having enough room for it...
TRUST ME!!! if you really want a XXX then just get a 12"
and youll have enough room to be happy with it...
the XXX loves space and power... if you cannot provide both
you need to think about what youre getting yourself into before
you spend the $$$...
trust me dude... i had to ebay my 15" XXX because it just wasnt
working for me...
just in case the XXX police show up here... I AM NOT putting down
the XXX... i am recommending the 12" XXX for his spacial limitations...
save yourself the letdown and headache... or get an SUV...
