90 caddy deville question re back panel behind rear seats

in my car there is a metal panel separating the trunk from the back seats. it's right behind the backseats. the thing rattles like crazy, and i've been told if i remove it, SPL inside the car will go up like crazy. so i want to cut it out, but i was wondering if that would have any effects on the car itself, i.e. backseat falling back, top caving in, anything else?

does anyone have any experience with this?

What I will be doing once I get my system in my 1991 Seville is taking out the rear speakers so that the sound can come from the trunk into the car. I don't really want to mess around with making a huge hole in my car.

I did a 90 Deville recently. The customer didn't want to remove that panel you speak of, so on either side of the 3rd brake light, I cut the deck out and had 4 - 4" ports come thru there from the boix. It was nice.

The bitter after-taste of a poor quality job will last far longer than
the sweetness of that cheap price!
