Terminal Cup

What kind of termianl cup/ cups do you need? My subs are going to single voice coil. So what kind of terminal cup would be good??

any terminal cup would be good...I would imagine...take a look at crutch feild they have different types of cups and all will work

I personally prefer terminal cups with binding posts

the terminal cups ive bought from radio shack dont seem that great. they leak air... so ive stopped using cups. i just drill a hole into the side of my box barley big enough to run the wire, then i use liquid nails or some other caulking and seal it up. air tight that way, but looks a little ghetto.

it doesnt leak around the terminal. if it did thats an easy fix. try this. take the terminal and put your mouth around where you attach the wires. put your other hand behind the terminal on the other side and blow air through. you will feel air going through the termianl from your mouth onto your hand...air leak.

ok i will try just drilling holesin it then caulking it up

If it's ported, just run the wires in the port. Problem solved. As for sealed ones, there are lots of ways of doing. Most of them involve more caulk.

Radio Shack has one good cup but they also have one that *****. Get this one from the Shack.......

why not just drill a hole, put a threaded bolt thru the hole, then put a rubber gasket on the inside, put ring terminals on the wires from the speaker, bolt them to the inside, and have it stick out the outside with a wingnut... a few drops of caulk\hotglue will keep the bolt in place, and the gasket will seal the hole up tight. and use the outter part of the bolt for the terminal.

cost you like $2 fora pair of bolts (if you dont have some lying around) and some wingnuts (for ease) and some small ring terminals.

and quite easy and airtight.

the bolt idea is the way to go i finsihe mu box today a used the bult idea instead man you can tell the differnece between my friends box nadm ine we both have the same subs and boxes!
