Doesn't matter, but make sure you have enough wood there so that the front doesn't flex. In your case, I would double up on the side the subs are on.

yeah, make sure it doesnt make weak spots, you might throw like a rib or something underneath where it is thin if you dont want to double the layers, and bracing mabye
